Blinds and shades are window coverings common for similar purposes such as giving privacy to the people inside a particular establishment or protecting the interior part from direct sunlight.

Slat blinds made of vinyl or metal is consisting of many flat horizontal slats connected to a string which have a 170 degrees rotation adjustments for hiding the light or it can be pulled up to clear the window. The blind rotation is dependent on the connector being attached to a pulling cord or string, so the lowering and raising are done by pulling different strings.

Unlike slat blinds, solid blinds have no mechanism to allow light to pass through it. They hang over the window to keep out light completely and can be pulled or rolled up to clear the window. There are several kinds of solid blinds, including roller shades (also known as Holland blinds), pull-down shades, pleated fabric shades, and Roman shades.

The Roman pleated shades truly connect us with calming softness, stylish fashion and revitalizing comfort. They make us develop within us the urge to create a modern look at a budget-friendly price. Pleated shades also offer various kinds of lighting, for instance, sheer, semi-sheer, opaque or light filtering. They also offer you much versatility and offer traditional value at an affordable price.

Dual shades (which are highly reflective, or light-colored, on one side and are heat absorbing, or dark-colored, on the other) are even more energy efficient than most ordinary shades. The reflective side should always face the warmer side. The materials from which shades are made also affect their efficacy as means of insulation and light/air barrier; fiber batting controls the entry of air more effectively than other materials.
